this is just slow and boring..... you get like 5 minutes of talking once a week...more chinese garbage.... it would be good if you didn't have to wait a year for someone to walk outside or up a flight of steps....

I kinda like the overall political mood building, but I agree that it's way too slow for a 5 minutes show, would work better with 20-30 minutes per episode. It's the kind of show where it may be better to wait for a year to watch a lot of episodes in one go.

I love the overall plot and storyline so far, I just wish I had more of it. It took a month for this birthday party to happen and it still isn't even finished lol. I want more!

Don't worry, after 10-20 episodes things will skyrocket. I started reading novel and I can tell you Su Yi will turn out absolute badass, definitely one of the top 3 characters in all novels I've read and so far novel is one of better ones. Best way to describe his character is probably brutal, vicious, murderous and yet carring lazy motherfscker

Problem right now is that he is in 2 predicaments without guilty party. Until you know those, his character is hard to understand. Well, if you want spoiler, you can just read my comments on previous episode where I explained it. This slow beginning is perfect for the story that follows in the first arc.

No no no, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the plot and the mc! I think this story is wonderful so far, but I am just so angry at how they can make such a plot and give us only 5 minutes a week. Other shows that are short at least give you 2 episodes a week. 1 episode a week to me just seems so disrespectful. There were literally 2 or 3 dialogues in this episode and then its see ya next week!

Actually, I understood you well in exact way you explained now.

1 episode is around 2 chapters (same as other 3-5min animations) in the novel and in the beginning 2 chapters really cover nothing because MC is unable to act. Once opening is over, story will be really fast and there will be no more feeling like episode is short

Story is absolutely slow even in novel at the beginning
- Due to his previous status, arguing people is like arguing ants even when they insult him. Emperor arguing with mortals?
- He lost his cultivation to 0. That is because his previous life triggered this partly because of the treasure requirement and big part because he reincarnated on his own will. He was stuck in cultivation in previous life as strongest emperor and no progress, so he kept collecting all sorts of skills and cultivations to reincarnate from scratch and rebuild to perfection in every step. But, at this step even he acknowledges he is a waste
- He also can't accuse Wen family of being unfair. Both, him and Wen family are victims of this marriage. Like first, Su family killed his mother and forced him out. And for Wen perspective, just imagine yourself that someone comes to you and says you have to marry your finest progeny to someone who is a waste and unwanted in family, yet they still want to retain face like Su family did to Wens just because granny was their former maid. Both are also under conditions, if Wen family cancels marriage (or granny reveals details about Su Yi to family, Su did this exactly so he would be despised everywhere) they get destroyed and if he steps in the capital or acts in family name he is executed.

Him being passive right now is the only way he can cope with the problem until he gains back at least starting power. But, as soon as he gets the starting line, his character does 180 degrees. Like, he is downright evil, usually one kills chicken to warn the monkeys... he kills chicken so no one knows it just so he can kill monkeys too
